Insanity Week 2 done! (kinda…)
Today’s Krav Maga class was tough. Tough enough that by the 20 min mark, all of us were dripping wet and panting like dogs. So I decided to give Day 11 a pass, just so I can rest up. My knees and shoulders are sore, but I am noticing that my stamina has improved heaps, as this morning’s session proved. I’m struggling with my food intake - I’m not actually eating enough.
To aid with my recovery, I’m rolling out my muscles 3 to 4 times a day. For about a year now, I’ve been a big fan of Trigger Point Therapy’s Lower Back Kit.

For the most part, I love the whole kit. I started rolling out a lot when I was training for my first 12KM race last year and I’m so glad I did. In fact, you can read how effective it was for me here (mine’s the first testimonial). But as I did a lot of Crossfit and Krav Maga, I started getting really tight shoulders. I needed something to deal with that pretty fast. So I read quite a fair bit about the Rumble Roller.

Since Tony Horton uses the Rumble Roller in the new P90X:2 vids, I think it was a safe bet to invest in it. So far, it’s great. I find it much easier to roll out my quads and my IT Band, and of course my back. My biggest problem has always been my calves, so I tend to switch between both the TP kit and the Rumble Roller to change things up.
So 7 weeks more of Insanity to go. Once Insanity is done, I’m taking a week off to recover, then I’m hitting the Asylum. I’m also thinking of flying to Sydney in September for the Annual Krag Maga Global Training Camp.
Yeah you could say I’m a roll…
